Daniel Huerta
My name is Daniel Huerta, and I am currently a full-time student at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), pursuing both my bachelor’s degree and teaching credential through the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). I have been working toward becoming an educator for approximately seven years, and by the time I graduate, that journey will span nearly eight years. While this path has taken time due to personal responsibilities, I have been able to attend full-time over the past two years, significantly accelerating my progress and strengthening my commitment to education. Throughout my studies, I have gained diverse, hands-on experience in a variety of educational settings, including schools focused on robotics and coding, environmental science, social-emotional learning, and the visual and performing arts, as well as clinical environments supporting students on the autism spectrum and outdoor, forest-based education programs. Beyond the classroom, I have served as an advocate for environmental education through the E.A.R.T.H. Club and taught coding using Minecraft at Pacoima Charter Elementary School. These experiences, along with the mentorship I have received at CSUN, have shaped my perspective on inclusive and innovative teaching. I have consistently maintained strong academic performance and approach every class with dedication, striving to be recognized as a hardworking individual who genuinely cares about the success of future generations. I strongly believe that educators must be lifelong learners, and I am committed to continuously developing my skills to become the best teacher I can be.
